Michael Cable, General Counsel

Mike Cable has over 20 years of experience as a licensed attorney in the State of California, and is an authority with past publications pertaining to state and federal public works, competitive bidding, wage and hour laws, prevailing wage, and apprenticeship requirements. Prior to joining the Employment Training Panel, Mr. Cable was in private practice primarily serving as a negotiator and litigator in contract, labor, business, and employment disputes, having successfully negotiated and litigated many cases in state and federal courts throughout California, as well as state and local administrative agencies.

Mr. Cable received his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was a Legislative Staff Writer for the Pacific Law Journal and an Editor for the McGeorge Law Review. Mr. Cable also holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of California at Irvine in Psychology & Social Behavior and Criminology, Law & Society; and an Associate in Arts degree from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California.

Mr. Cable is admitted to the following courts: State Bar of California (1998); United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit (1998); United States District Court, Eastern District of California (1998); United States District Court, Northern District of California (1999); United States District Court, Central District of California (2000); and United States District Court, Southern District of California (2000). Mr. Cable is also currently a member of the Public Law and Labor & Employment sections of the California Lawyers Association.
